Silvia Diez is a seasoned journalist, writer, and community leader with over 25 years of experience in Hispanic media across Southwest Florida. Originally from Argentina, Silvia earned her degree in Journalism and Communications, complemented by studies in Child Psychology, Elementary Education, and Business Marketing.

She began her media career in 1999 as News Director for Estéreo FM107.5 and later became the host of the first Spanish-language television program in the region, Qué Pasa SW Florida on Comcast. In 2005, she was selected by the Naples Daily News to lead and edit its first Spanish-language edition, managing a team of 30 professionals.

Silvia is the founder and former editor of Nuevos Ecos, the first Hispanic newspaper in Southwest Florida, established in 2000. Today, she continues to serve as an independent journalist contributing to several Hispanic media outlets, including El Mensajero newspaper, Revista Esencial, and Power Latino TV, where she serves as host.

As CEO of Mujeres Emprendedoras SWFL and Vice President of the Southwest Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Silvia remains a driving force in empowering women and advancing Hispanic representation in media and business.

In 2024, her remarkable contributions were recognized by U.S. Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart, who honored her 25-year career in journalism by including her in the official Congressional Record of the United States.
